Turkey's wheat harvest drops by 13.7% year-on-year in 2025

 
 

 

Turkey's gross wheat harvest in 2025 has fallen to 17.9 million tonnes, a 13.7% decrease compared to last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

 

Barley production fell by 25.9% to 6.0 million tonnes. Corn harvests also fell to 8.5 million tonnes (-4.9% compared to last year).

 

Due to the poor harvest, Turkey will be forced to increase grain imports. In the first four months of the current season, the country imported 1,432,300 tonnes of wheat, a 28% increase compared to the same period last year.
