World Aquaculture 2025 returns to China

The World Aquaculture 2025 event (WA2025) will be held in Qingdao, China, from April 24-27, 2025, at the Qingdao International Convention Centre, Fish Farmer reported.

This event marks the return of WA2025 to China, following its successful debut in 2002. It is organised by the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) and the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute (YSFRI) CAFS, with the China Society of Fisheries (CFS) serving as the host. The event is supported by the National Fisheries Technology Extension Centre (NFTEC), the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences (CAFS), and the State Key Laboratory of Mariculture Biobreeding and Sustainable Goods (BRESG).

Qingdao, located in eastern Shandong Province, is recognised for its role as an international port city and a key hub for marine research and education. The city's strong marine economy and cultural significance have earned it recognition as one of China's Most Ecologically Competitive Cities. The Qingdao International Convention Centre, the largest exhibition venue in Shandong Province, will host the event.

WA2025 organisers are inviting aquaculture experts from organisations, institutes, companies, and universities to participate in this three-day international conference and exhibition. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend specialised sessions, explore the latest industry products and services, network with professionals, and form partnerships.

The conference will focus on the theme "Aquaculture Transformation: Action Towards High Quality and Food Security." Keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and an exhibition will highlight advancements in the industry.
