Lai Chau Agricultural Construction and Development Investment Co., Ltd. has broken ground on a high-tech pig farming complex in Muong Pon commune, Dien Bien province, with a total investment of approximately 120 billion VND (US$4.7 million).
The project covers more than 10.5 hectares and comprises 16 livestock barns alongside a modern waste treatment system. Of the total investment, around 80 billion VND (US$3.1 million) is allocated to infrastructure construction, with the remaining 40 billion VND (US$1.6 million) directed towards breeding stock and initial operations.
At full capacity, the farm is designed to support 300 breeding sows and 3,600 weaning pigs, with projected annual output of 8,000 commercial pigs. Breeding stock will be sourced from PIC Group, with animal feed supplied by GreenFeed Group.
The first batch of pigs is scheduled for placement in December 2026, with the full project expected to be completed by June 2027. The operator has indicated plans to develop downstream pork processing in a later phase, linking with local farmers to build a circular agricultural value chain.
