Triumph Foods confirms expansion of pork processing facility in Missouri, US

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and Triumph Foods LLC confirmed a new $30 million expansion of the existing pork processing plant in Missouri, the United States.

The move will expand the company's current cold storage and shipping capacity, helping support increased production. The expansion by Triumph will also include the installation of new equipment, machinery, and personal property related to the project.

"We are proud of the work we do every day to feed the world, and this expansion is the next step in that commitment," said Matt England, president and chief executive officer at Triumph Foods. "Investing in this expansion means investing in our team members and the community that has supported us throughout our 20 years in operations."

Triumph is St. Joseph's second-largest employer with more than 2,900 workers.

"Triumph investing in new equipment and infrastructure positions the company for continued growth," said Natalie Hawn, president and chief executive officer of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce. "It's the kind of forward-thinking investment that strengthens the company as well as our local economy and reinforces our community as a great place for businesses to grow and succeed."

Other groups working on this expansion include the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Evergy, Buchanan County and the City of St. Joseph.

Last month, Triumph Foods also announced it would be collaborating with the Missouri Western State University (MoWest) by joining the MoWest Corporate Education program.
