Chinese milk producers not much hindered by blizzards and extreme low temperatures
The operations of China Modern Dairy Holdings and Bright Dairy in China have not been badly impacted by recent blizzards and freezing temperatures in central Hubei province and eastern Anhui province, the listed Chinese milk producers told Yicai.
Milk production remains normal and logistics are also unaffected by the icy conditions, said Modern Dairy, which owns a number of ranches in Anhui, each with over 10,000 dairy cows. The highways were somewhat congested on February 4-5, but the roads have now been cleared and traffic is flowing normally.
Production in Wuhan is running as normal, said an executive from Bright Dairy, which has a plant in the capital city of Hubei province. The Shanghai-based company is able to redistribute production within China, so product distribution is not affected even during extreme weather.
