China Tryptophan: Producers stand firm (week ended Jun 7, 2021)



Producers held tryptophan stable after clearing excess stocks. Sales were limited as most feed manufacturers were cautious with the hog market weak.


Meanwhile, Ajinomoto’s amino acids plant in Amiens, northern France, which halted production during late May due, is expected to resume operation gradually after June 7.


In China, Xinjiang Fufeng halted price releases while operating to fulfil closed deals before launching its routine maintenance starting mid-June.


The upward scope of tryptophan market will be limited amid tepid demand.
