China Threonine: Prices soar despite slow post-festive feed consumption (week ended Feb 22, 2021)

Inadequate availability of corn tightened the production of several amino acids including threonine. With output costs high and production low, producers lifted the prices of threonine significantly lately.
Export prices rose prominently to US$2.10/kg.
Threonine market is set to stay firm despite slower feed consumption following the high releases prior to the Chinese New Year holidays. However, with corn supplies insufficient and prices breaking records after records, threonine producers will continue to lift prices accordingly.
