China AA Broiler: Chick prices surge on supply crunch (week ended Feb 22, 2021)
After falling 4% between late January and early February, prices of AA broiler remained unchanged over the past three weeks as markets were closed due to the Chinese New Year celebration.
Average AA broiler prices were at RMB8.46/kg.
There was no trading in the chick market due to the festive holidays. However, amid tight availability, AA chick prices surged to the range of RMB4.20-4.50/chick lately.
AA broiler sales will remain slow as most slaughterhouses remained closed. However, chick prices are set to stay strong aid inadequate supplies.
